Your personal tour of Hong Kong - Bank of China Observation Deck

Remarkable views from one of Hong Kong’s lesser known attractions

You can book a tour with me at the Tours by Locals website or directly through this site.

Getting a birds eye view of Hong Kong can be at times frustrating, The Peak offers fantastic views but sometimes you need a closer look at a particular district, in this case Central one of the most visited places in Hong Kong, unless you have friends in high places (!) such as Jardine House, IFC, The Center etc this can be difficult.

The Bank of China Tower has an observation deck on the 43rd Floor and I use that term loosely, it is actually a working floor with offices but a small area has been “put aside” to give visitors a wonderful view looking down over Central and in the distance, Kowloon.

When you enter the lobby you need to put your bag through an x ray machine, get a security clearance tag, give it to the receptionist with your ID Card, Passport or Driving License and you will get a key card pass that gives you access to the lifts and yes, it is free.

When I go I often stay for 30 minutes, it is quite fascinating, pictures capture the moment but I find the moving traffic (and people) very relaxing, the height you are at guarantees some stunning views and the windows do allow decent photographs.

Some of the photo’s shown are a bit dodgy, light reflections and the glass can show some distortions but then I am using a camera phone, proper cameras should compensate.

I would highly recommend a visit for some of the best views in Hong Kong.

  • About Jamie Lloyd

I am Jamie Lloyd, your trusted private tour guide in Hong Kong. Thanks for stopping by! I offer personal walking tours of Hong Kong: nothing more, nothing less, based on my in depth knowledge acquired after 36 years of living here. I update this site daily with news and views about Hong Kong: serious, whimsical and the downright weird, with lots of photos.

Hong Kong is a fabulous place to live, work and raise a family and in that time I have built up a great deal of knowledge about this vibrant city which I am proud to call my home. Like any big city and major tourist destination, Hong Kong has its faults, quirks and downright irritating habits, however, the city has so much to offer.

If you are looking for a personal sightseeing tour of Hong Kong that is just a little bit different then you have come to the right place!

If you fancy booking your own private walking tour of Hong Kong, then Book a Tour here or if you have any questions (or just want to say hello!), please drop me a line any time at jamie@j3tourshk.com. If you wish to contact me by phone, my mobile phone number is (+852) 6532 5013.
